Independent Meth Testing
Methamphetamine residue can’t be seen or smelled. Inspeco samples to NZS 8510:2017 and sends samples to an IANZ-accredited laboratory — and because we don’t do decontamination, there’s no conflict of interest in the result.

Lab-backed results, with nothing to sell you afterwards.
Meth residue can be left behind by use or manufacture and stays on surfaces long after the people involved have gone. Testing is the only way to know — and the independence of the person testing matters as much as the method.
Our inspectors collect surface samples following NZS 8510:2017 and send them to an IANZ-accredited laboratory for analysis. Results are reported clearly against current New Zealand guidance, with sample locations recorded so the findings can be relied on later.

Why book your meth testing with Inspeco.
Zero conflict of interest
Some testers also sell clean-ups. We don’t — so there’s no incentive behind the number.
Accredited labs only
Every sample is analysed by an IANZ-accredited laboratory.
Documented properly
Sample locations, photos and method are recorded so the result holds up if it’s ever questioned.

When should I test a property for meth?
Common times are before buying, at the start and end of a tenancy (to establish a baseline and compare), and whenever there’s reason for concern.
How long do results take?
The sampling visit is quick. Turnaround depends on the laboratory — we’ll confirm expected timing when you book.
What happens if the result is elevated?
Your report explains what the result means against current New Zealand guidance and recommended next steps. Because we don’t do decontamination, you’re free to choose any provider.
Is a composite test the same as a detailed test?
No. Screening (composite) samples combine areas to check for presence; detailed testing samples individual areas to locate contamination. We’ll recommend the right approach for your situation.
